Jim Ladd is a "classic" rock DJ in the Los Angeles radio market. Tom Petty calls him the "Last DJ" Ladd does what is called free-form rock radio. That means he can play whatever songs he wishes without having to follow a radio format. He places these songs in order so that they tell a story. The suits wont stream him except on Friday nights when he does Theme of Conscience. This ratings strong show requires the listeners to call in song request (or post them on myspace.com/jimladd) based on a certain theme (i.e. fire, angels, sports, women, etc.) This show is changing the face of radio.
